Dunham Woods Farms welcomes riders in grades 6-12 to join our IEA riding team! Members will participate in team lessons and practices, attend team activities, and compete at 5 regular season horse shows throughout the school year. Riders who are successful during the season will have the opportunity to compete at regional, zone, and national finals!  IEA is a super affordable way to start horse showing career. You don’t  need to own your own horse. Contact Team Coordinator Rose Muenzenmay for more information! If you are joining from a neighboring lesson program, please email me to set up a trial lesson! Team Dunham Woods/I.E.A. Goals

To encourage recognition for middle and secondary school              equestrians and to promote the equestrian as an athlete. To provide riders with organized competitive opportunities. To introduce new riders to equine sports. To provide riders with opportunities to further their education in equine sports and equine-related matters. To encourage liaison with other equestrian associations for the betterment of equestrian sports. To encourage a higher standard of coaching and instruction. To provide information concerning the creation and development of mounted and non-mounted equestrian programs. To keep pace with the continuing progress of equestrian sports and to encourage good horsemanship. To generally promote the common interests of riding instruction and competition, and education on matters related to all segments of the horse industry. To develop team and individual sportsmanship. To establish a foundation to support the continuing mission of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association.

Showing Attire, Equipment & More

Dunham Woods Farms and Saddler’s Row are working together to ensure that all I.E.A. Riders have the correct attire and equipment for the show ring. Between their huge and affordable consignment section or the racks upon racks of new merchandise, Saddler’s Row  has the best selection of attire and equipment in the area. Pop in to get fitted and pick up all you need! All riders on the team should already have, or, be outfitted with the following: ASTM Approved riding helmet (black only, clean, fitted properly) Tan breeches or Jodphur pants Tall Boots, half chaps (black only) or brown/black leather jodphur straps (ask sales team for age appropriate items) Show Jacket (black or navy only) White collared show shirt with proper fitting choker (minimal pattern and color ok) Small crop or bat (black leather only) Black leather show gloves Hairnets, hair ties, bobby pins (match hair color) If you are unsure about the items you may already have, share them with the coaches or administrator.
