Lesson Program
Backed by years of tremendous achievements
both in and out of the show ring, Dunham Woods
Farms’ method is proven and translates to
success for our students. We are available to
meet with our students and clients to establish
and discuss both short and long term goals. We
provide a variety of safe, proven school horses
and ponies for our lesson students to learn on.
DWF’s skilled and professional staff strives to
provide a safe and supportive learning
environment for both horse and riders.
We offer private, semi-private and group riding
lessons for students ages 9 & over. We have
lessons for adults too! For our young riders aged
8 & older we offer private lead line lessons.
All students are to have ASTM approved helmets,
riding boots and long pants in order to ride. We
do not have riding apparel and safety headwear
for public use.
Please call or email us for lesson pricing
information.
Sorry, we do not offer trail rides or horse rentals.
For those clients interested in pursuing a
purchase, we assist with the selection process
and help to identify the specific qualities which
are in alignment with the riders individual needs
and objectives.
Horsemanship for Beginners
Dunham Woods has taught thousands to ride
horses over the last 50+ years. We believe that the
importance of laying a solid foundation of horse
care is essential to the growth and progression as
an equestrian and rider.
These 6-week courses are offered through several
local Park District offices. If your Park District does
not offer our programming, direct sign up through
Dunham Woods offices is available.
Feel free to call or email us for more information
and to see which Park Districts we partner with!
Working Student Program
Dunham Woods offers those who consistently take
lessons with us, the opportunity to become a
volunteer working student. It’s a great way to gain
knowledge and grow as a horseman, as well as learn
about the responsibilities of being on and around
the farm. See instructor for details. This can
sometimes count towards National Honors Society
hours!

Additional Activities Offered
Dunham Woods Farms offers several clinics
throughout the year that focus on the care or
horses, equipment and more. We believe that a well
rounded horseman should not only be confident
and well-trained on horseback, but on the ground
as well.
In addition to riding and grooming clinics, DWF also
offers several seasonal horsemanship camps during
winter, spring and summer school breaks.
Appropriate for the beginning rider or the student
looking to expand their horsemanship knowledge!
Join in the fun!
Dunham Woods offers 3 school shows throughout
the year for our riding school riders. It is a great and
fun learning tool! There are classes for all levels and
ages of rider.
We have several students whose parents have
joined in the fun at Dunham Woods Farms! We have
daytime and after work lesson slots available. Make
some new friends and have a blast in the saddle!
